A new wood shingle roof was recently installed on the South Haven Keeper’s Quarters to match the historic roofing material. The project was partially funded with an MLAP grant. The previous asphalt shingle roof was quickly deteriorating so the roof work was critical to protect the structure. Repair of water damage to the porch ceiling and roof structure was also a part of the work. This project resulted in a significant visual improvement and will serve to preserve this historic resource.
